Fixed Braces

Fixed braces can transform the aesthetic of crooked teeth and give you a healthier mouth. With your teeth beautifully straight, you might also notice your confidence in smiling blossoms too. Fixed braces are extremely efficient for straightening moderate to severely crooked and misaligned teeth. We may also recommend a fixed brace if your bite is out of position.

It’s no overstatement to say that braces can be life-changing. Once your teeth are more evenly positioned, you will find them much easier to take care of. This is only going to be good news for the future health of your teeth. The cosmetic benefits of teeth straightening can’t be ignored either. A more symmetrical and even smile can also bring about a change in your self-esteem and help you to live your best life!

We will carefully plan your treatment using cutting-edge digital planning software. Following a detailed clinical assessment of your teeth, we will be able to give you an accurate projection of how long treatment will take.

What can I expect from my treatment journey?

Once we have investigated your suitability for treatment and confirmed you are happy with the treatment plan we propose, we can start your treatment. Your braces are custom-made and affixed to your teeth. You’ll find they’re really easy to get used to.

You can expect your treatment to take in the region of 12 – 24 months, and we will monitor your progress closely during this time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to come in to have my brace adjusted?

We will ask you to come and see us every 6 to 8 weeks, so we can adjust your brace and keep an eye on your teeth’s movements.

Will I be able to eat normally?

There are some limitations on what you can and can’t eat with fixed braces. Chewy foods like toffees and caramels are a no-no with braces (they can easily become stuck in your brace!), as are harder foods like crusty bread. If you’re someone who might prefer a more flexible treatment model, take a look at our Invisalign® page.

Am I suitable for fixed braces?

We may suggest a fixed brace if you’re someone who might feel they don’t have the discipline to wear removable Invisalign® aligners. During your consultation, we can discuss all options open to you and answer your questions about having your teeth straightened.

How exactly does treatment improve my oral health?

With more of your tooth surfaces exposed, your brush and floss will be able to reach parts of your mouth they struggled to get to before treatment. This means your oral hygiene routine will be much more efficient, giving you a better long-term oral health forecast.

What are modern fixed braces like?

It’s no wonder so many people choose fixed braces, as modern designs are super lightweight and comfortable to wear. We can also offer ceramic fixed braces, which blend in with the appearance of your tooth shade. These suit patients who are looking for a discreet-looking brace.

We also offer virtually invisible lingual braces which sit snugly on the inside of your teeth.

Invisalign® vs metal braces: which should I choose?

We’ll run you through your options when you come in for your consultation. If you have severe structural problems with your teeth, we might recommend a fixed brace, which is more suited to complex cases.

How much does treatment cost?

Treatment typically ranges in cost from £1,500 to £5,000, with the final price largely influenced by the degree of dental movement needed. This cost can differ significantly among patients based on their individual treatment requirements.

Do you offer finance for dental treatment?

Yes, we offer interest-free and interest-bearing finance so that high-quality dental care is accessible to all our patients.

I’m embarrassed about coming in – can you help?

We understand that coming in to seek implant-based treatments is a huge life event. Our clinicians are compassionate people who encounter many patients who feel self-conscious about the condition of their mouths. We understand how debilitating lost teeth can be, particularly on your confidence levels and your everyday happiness. We are very happy to book you in for a practice tour or an appointment with our treatment coordinator in a non-clinical setting before your consultation.

Who performs my treatment?

Multiple members of the Denmark Street Dental clinical team will be involved in the planning and treating your dental care. This includes dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians and sedation dentists, who work seamlessly together to deliver predictable results.

Can you offer sedation?

We do. Sedation is invaluable for helping extremely anxious patients relax during their treatment.

Why choose Denmark Street Dental for treatment with fixed braces?

Our close attention to detail when planning your treatment is second to none. By mapping out your treatment in detail using the most up-to-date planning software, we can achieve a natural-looking result that complements your facial features.
